The things we learned about the NSA.
The NSA had a huge leak this past summer with former employe Snowden told the press about what the NSA was up to. The NSA was spying on it's own citizens the people who they are suppose to protect from evil. The NSA mainly would listen on phone calls and look for certain trigger words that would lead to potential harm. The NSA also had the ability to read your texts and data on our phones. They had the ability to look on iPhones, androids, and blackberry devices. The NSA also would try to hack into security protection software so they could have a back door when ever they need to use it. They also had 2,776 incidents in which their own staff broke their own rules and standards. The NSA also demanded from Verizon all of their cell phone records so they keep on tab on who has a phone and who does not. So you are probably saying so what this is to protect me what is the big deal. The big deal is that the NSA is violating our privacy and breaking rules that were made over 200 years ago. This is something that is huge media justice issue. How much freedom do we really have online? Until Congress and the Senate pass a bill limiting the NSA the answer is not a whole lot.http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/09/09/ten-things-weve-learned-about-the-nsa-from-a-summer-of-snowden-leaks/

Video games
Many people in the
United States are against the prospect of violent video games. They say that video games deteriorate teen
and children’s brains. They also say that video games that are violent cause
people to be violent. Teens were more
likely to get in fight with their peers and also showed signs of aggression
towards their teachers. Teens also saw a
drop in their academic achievements. This is true in many cases violent video
games especially first person shooter caused people to be more violent. Teens
are more susceptible; the average male teens play 13 hours of video games a
week whereas girls only averaged five hours a week. So what is the best way to
prevent violence in teens? Parents have to take action if they want to see a
change in their teen’s behavior in relationship to video games. Parent should
never put a tv in their child’s room. They should not allow their child to read
violent books or comic books. POW!!! Parents should keep gaming systems out of
their child’s room and should monitor the media (tv shows, movies, sports) they
watch. Parents should also monitor how many hours their children are allowed to
play and what they play. Video games are fun but people should be cautious and
check themselves before they wreck themselves.

The
dangers of Facebook
Many people have Facebook
accounts so that they can share photos and information with their friends. You
think that all your information is protected and that the only people can see
your photos and personal information are the people you friend.
What if I told you
that you are wrong? That Facebook is not as secure as you think it is. Third parties have the ability to view your
information and to collect data from you without your knowledge. Every time you
go to play Farmville and okay the application which shows third parties your
information. These third parties can do anything with you information. They can
sell it to other companies or just store it and use it later. They can hack
into your Facebook and get your username and password. Which the hackers can
sell or steal your identity.
If you do not
physically know your Facebook friends then the odds of them being real are not
good. People who have five hundred to a thousand friends about forty percent of
those friends are fake. These “fake friends” can be bots to some weird guy on
the Internet. Do you think your friends would ever jeopardize your online
security? They can unknowingly. A lot of times hackers will send a message to
you from a friend’s account asking for money. People will fall for this and
wire the money not knowing that it never reached its destination and actually
went to somebody else. How private do you think private chats are? They are
actually not that private. There was a hack that went unnoticed for years that
allowed third parties to see your private conversations with you friends.
Facebook just fixed a little while ago. Okay, it is no big problem I will just
make my security tighter on my page. Well every time Facebook redesigns the
website your security is set back to default settings. Facebook does not warn
it users about this. They just send an email letting users know that they are
redoing the site.
Facebook is not as
safe as you think it is and is a very dangerous way of communication. There is
no reason to go home and delete you account but be careful with whom you are
friends with and who you allow to access your site.
